「金枝」是人類學的名著；祭司與先知以黃金樹枝賄賂守門人，潛入冥府歷險。金枝演社以這個神話的名字，作為劇團的名號，帶領觀眾去冒險。

自1993年創團，秉持「從土地長出來的文化最感人」理念，金枝作品將戲劇藝術與土地、人文連結，獨特的台戲美學為國內僅見，是當代極具台灣文化美學特色的現代劇團。並以開創「台灣原生」的音樂歌舞劇，獲雲門舞集創辦人林懷民盛讚：「開啟台語音樂劇的時代」！

同時，金枝更走出劇場，多部結合歷史空間的創作展演，以獨有的藝術風格和美學意境，開啟台灣經典「史詩環境劇場」系列，深獲國內外重要肯定。

“Golden Bough” is a masterpiece of anthropology. Priests and prophets used golden boughs to bribe the gatekeepers to sneak into the underworld. Having named the troupe after that mythical item, Director Wang Rong-yu sets out to lead the audience into adventures.

Founded in 1993, Golden Bough Theatre upholds the concept of “The most touching is the culture springing from native land”. The troupe’s works connect theatre arts with land and culture. With unique Taiwanese drama aesthetics that is only seen in Taiwan, the modern troupe embodies the aesthetics of contemporary Taiwanese culture.

國內經典─金枝演社的《祭特洛伊》改編世界最偉大的詩篇之一：荷馬鉅作「伊利亞特」（Iliad），描述死亡暴力與文明輓歌的特洛伊戰爭史詩。

導演王榮裕以台灣的身體和語言，將木馬屠城的希臘悲劇移轉台灣，全本河洛語搬演，上演詭譎、壯麗的千年古國祭歌，把本土庶民世界的想像力，發揮得淋漓盡致；更力邀霹靂音樂總監—風采輪，古調新編，創作全劇樂曲。

強烈視覺、壯闊樂音，《祭特洛伊》以史詩環境劇場的形式，引領觀眾走入一場光怪極致的美學祭儀，化為獻給土地生命的最深禮讚。劇終後，觀眾發現頭頂星空燦爛如熾，美得離奇。

Golden Bough Theatre’s “Troy, Troy…Taiwan” was inspired by a world’s greatest epic: Homer’s Iliad, depicts the nature of a great war, the catastrophic violence and also a civil elegy.

Director Wang Rong-yu transforms the Greek tragedy into a spectacular modern drama rooted in traditional Taiwanese local opera, that reminds audience of the rituals of shamanism in front of temples in Southern Taiwan.

Through aesthetic rituals of violence and death, “Troy, Troy…Taiwan” draws from the revolving door of thousands of years of history. Transforming the ode of human history written in ancient times, the play also serves as praise and blessings for land and life.
